There's something to college sports when the players are playing more for pride and their school than a massive guaranteed salary that allows them to dictate when they feel like playing (I'm looking at you, Manny Ramirez). The notion of a huge upset or two every week keeps me on the edge of my seat. But I can't truly enjoy the season knowing that there's a system in place that is so discriminatory, so biased, so flawed and ridiculously bad that the end of the season is more of a downer than an enjoyable watch. Nonetheless, sometimes you get some big names (also a loose term) making news, for right and wrong reasons. Recently there have been three big stories that, to me, seem to define the levels of the music industry, how bad it is, and what could be done about it.
